Diana Jalal, MD

Dr. Jalal is an Investigator at and the Associate Director of the Center for Access & Delivery Research and Evaluation (CADRE) at the Iowa City VA and an Associate Professor in the Nephrology Division of Internal Medicine at the University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine (Diana Jalal | Department of Internal Medicine ). As a nephrologist, she specializes in the care and research of chronic kidney disease (CKD).

Dr. Jalal graduated from The University of Jordan Faculty of Medicine in 1998, after which she completed her residency training in Internal Medicine at the University of Iowa. She then moved to Texas where she completed clinical fellowship training in Nephrology at Baylor College of Medicine and a research fellowship at the University of Texas- Houston. Dr. Jalal started her academic career as an Assistant Professor of Medicine at the University of Texas- Houston. She subsequently moved to the University of Colorado (Denver, Colorado) where she was an Associate Professor of Medicine and the Clinical Director for the Renal Service at the University of Colorado Hospitals. In 2017, she moved back to Iowa as an Associate Professor of Medicine at the University of Iowa Renal Division and the Deputy Chief of Specialty Medicine at the Iowa City VA HCS.
