Heather Davila, PhD, MPA
Dr. Davila is an Investigator at the Center for Access & Delivery Research and Evaluation (CADRE) at the Iowa City VA and a Research Assistant Professor of Internal Medicine-General Internal Medicine at the University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine. Before joining CADRE, she completed a postdoctoral fellowship in health services research at the VA Boston Healthcare System.
Dr. Davila was recently awarded a 2-year Career Development Award (CDA) focused on rural health care delivery for older Veterans. Previously, her research focused on improving care quality for older adults who use long-term services and supports (LTSS), primarily in nursing homes. Her current research examines rural-urban differences in utilization of LTSS and strategies to increase rural Veterans’ access to home-based LTSS.
